Cutting Safely from the Ground
The SFT20-2 is designed to keep you off the ladder, but power tools always require respect. Follow these simple steps for the best experience:
1. Pre-Cut Checklist
Battery Check: Ensure your Solid-State Battery is fully charged.
Clear the Zone: Always ensure the "Drop Zone" is clear of people, pets, and youself.
2. Operating the SFT20-2
Positioning: Stand at an angle to the limb. Never stand directly underneath what you are cutting.
No Pulling: Hook the saw blade on the target limb. Let the saw do the work—don't "force" the cut.
Maximum and Minimum Diameter: For 6 inch blade, stick to limbs 4 inches and smaller. On the other side, the tool will not work well to thin waving limbs. It is sawing anyway.
3. Maintenance Tips
Charge After Use: It will help to maintain the battery healthy. This is more important if it will stay in storage for long time.
Storage: Store your battery in a cool, dry place to maintain its lifespan.
Q: What pole should I use?
A: The SFT20-v2 is compatible with most standard threaded telescoping poles. These poles are also commonly used in painting or window cleaning. For the best experience, use carbon fiber poles. But all other materials are good too. Choose a pole long enough for your needs.
Q: Where can I get the pole?
A:
Local Hardware store, like HomeDepot, they have poles up to 18ft, with good firmness.
If you need longer pole, check online stores. Amazon has a few brands of telecopic pole such as SISUPASSIE, Opow, Leriton with poles of 24ft and 30ft.
If you need even longer poles, check special tool suppliers.
Q: What saw blades work with the tool?
A: T-shank jigsaw blades. Look for blades for "fast wood". We recomond 4" to 6" long. You can find replacements at any local hardware store.
Q: How do I install the blade?
A: Our system uses a universal tool-less jigsaw blade holder. To install: 1. Ensure the unit is powered off. 2. Flip the quick-release lever. 3. Insert a T-shank jigsaw blade. 4. Release the lever back. 5. Make sure the blade falls in the support roller grove.
Q:What does the light on the charger mean?
A:
When charging Saw Head - Green Light in the Charger slow blinking: the battery is currently charging. Light Off: the battery is fully charged and ready for use.
When charging Remote Controller (RC) - Steady Red Light: charging. Red Light Off: fully charged.
Q: How do I charge it?
A: The V2 comes with a dedicated charger and wire for the Solid-State battery. Plug it in until the indicator turns off.
The SFT20-v2 comes with power adapter with USB output and two charging wires. One is USB to the saw, the other for USB to the RC. When the red light goes off, charge is complete.
Charge the saw before and after each use.
Q: How long does a full charge take?
A: Depend on the battery condition. For a deeply exausted battery, charging will take 3 hours to complete.
Charging the RC is quick, normally less than 30 minuts.
Q: How much work it can do by one full charge?
A: Under good condition, you can do quite lot. For 2.5 inch wood branchs, you can make 20 to 30 cuts. Obviously, your skill and experience of using the tool will play an important role.
Q: When do I need the lock washer?
A: The lock washer is to prevent the saw loosening from the thread due to vibration. That's may happen if the thread had large clearance. If you experienced that, apply the lock washer pair.
